Gruhn Guitars Atkins Haile

Chet Atkins' 1977 Hascal Haile

Chet Atkins will be forever identified with the Gretsch and Gibson models he designed, but Chet aficionados know that his favorite guitars in the middle years of his career were classical models made by Kentucky luthier Hascal Haile. Chet liked this 1977 Haile so much that he used it in a publicity shot that appeared on the cover of his 1982 book The Complete Chet Atkins Guitar Method.

This instrument (inv. #AC1683) is in excellent condition. It comes with a certification letter from Haile (written to a later owner of the guitar) dated Nov. 2, 1984. It also comes with newspaper clippings of Haile's obituary, photo of Haile and a copy of Chet's method book. With hard case, it is offered at $8,000.
